Get ready for another fantastic season with your local community chorus! We will begin rehearsals for or Fall/Winter season on September 4th.
Here’s what you need to know:
Registration will be open from 6:30-7pm before the first three rehearsals, on September 4th, 11th, and 18th. If you are a returning member, you just need to check in and pay your membership dues. If you are a new member, we’ll have a short form for you to fill out and music that you can borrow during rehearsal. You will receive your assigned music folder after you’ve decided to join and dues are paid. Dues are $60 for fall or $100 if you pay for both the fall and spring semesters. No refunds can be given after the third week of rehearsals.
Our concerts are Thursday, December 11th and Sunday, December 14th. We sound our best when every singer is at every rehearsal and concert. We understand that some conflicts and unexpected situations arise, but please make attendance a priority. The fall season is short; we have only 13 rehearsals before our concerts, so each one is important. Members who cannot attend both concerts or who miss three rehearsals may be asked to step down until a future season.
Be prepared to jump in and sing! We’ll spend a short amount of time introducing ourselves and going over some policies, but the goal of every rehearsal is to spend as much time singing as possible. Warm-ups will start promptly at 7:00pm, so please arrive on time.
Be prepared to step out of your comfort zone! The goal of this ensemble is to challenge every singer to improve, no matter your starting point. We will be working on both memorizing some songs and singing in a mixed formation this year. This may feel awkward or seem daunting at first, but it will greatly improve our musicality when we pull it off!
Invite a friend! There’s no such thing as too many voices! I’m looking forward to getting started in just a few weeks!
