Thank you for your interest in the Mat-Su Community Chorus! New members are welcome to join during the start up month of each season, namely, September or January. Men and women are welcome and encouraged to join. MCC is a non-auditioned group and welcomes novice singers as well as accomplished musicians. Singers under 18 years of age may join with permission from the Artistic Director.

Rehearsals for Spring 2024 begin soon! New members will be accepted for our spring program starting on January 11, 2024.

Dues
Dues are $60 per season and are payable after three rehearsals. Music may not be taken home until dues are paid. There is a lost music fee of $50 charged to those who fail to turn in their music after the season ends.

Rehearsals
Rehearsals are held at Mat-Su Evangelical Church, 5201 E Mayflower Lane, Wasilla. Normal rehearsals run from 7:00pm-9:00pm, but may be extended close to concert dates.

Fundraising
As a non-profit organization, our continued existence depends on fundraising. As such, All members are encouraged to support the chorus in its fundraising efforts. You can help the chorus in the following ways:
-> Link your Fred Meyer account to Mat-Su Community Chorus to earn Community Rewards in store or at www.fredmeyer.com
-> Source an advertisement from a local business for our concert program
-> Find a corporate or private sponsor to make a tax-deductible $100 donation. This person or business will be listed as your sponsor for the season in our concert program.
-> Participate in fundraising event and promotional events throughout the year

Concert Attire
Concert attire is formal.  All members are responsible for obtaining their own concert attire.

Men wear black tuxedos with a white shirt and black bow tie. Women wear ankle length black dresses and a light weight jacket available for purchase from Stage Accents. (Dress: Georgette $59; Jacket: Amadeus $36)

Check with the Board for availability of dresses from former members. The dress comes un-hemmed; please allow time for alteration. Shipping usually only takes a few days.

Music Folder
You will also need a black music folder to  hold your music.  You can purchase your own folder at musicfolder.com starting at $23.95. The Board also has folders available to borrow or purchase.
